28.8V 480Ah High Energy System

This system represents an example of International Battery’s capabilities and systems expertise and builds on our cell manufacturing and battery module design to deliver custom solutions for our customers. This system is designed to supply a nominal voltage of 28.8VDC at a nominal capacity of 480Ah, providing system energy of 13.8kWh.  The structure is built around 27 160Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells.  There are a total of 3 parallel strings with 9 cells in series in each string.  The complete system (currently being tested by NASA) is mounted in a standard EIA 19” rack mount.

The system also includes a BMS (battery management system) that is used for charging, isolation, and monitoring of the complete battery bank.  The BMS also provides a communication port (Ethernet, DB9 connector or RS232) for communication with customer equipment.  Example information that the BMS supplies thru the communication port are:

  • Individual cell voltage
  • State of charge (SOC)
  • State of health (SOH)
  • Depth of discharge (DOD)
  • Cell Temperatures
  • Cell (s) isolated
  • Cell isolated override
  • Charging required
  • Charging complete
  • Fault codes
  • Total bank voltage

Customized BMS features can also be accommodated.

All of our systems and BMS come with a comprehensive user’s guide.
