JMP Securities Identifies Top 100 Most Promising Privately Held Clean Technology Companies in 2011

ALLENTOWN, Pa – May 25, 2011 – International Battery (www.internationalbattery.com), a U.S. manufacturer and developer of large-format lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, today announced that JMP Securities, a San Francisco-based investment bank, listed the company in its published report, “The Green 100: The Top 100 Most Promising Privately Held Clean Technology Companies in 2011.” The report profiles 100 of the leading private companies in the Clean Technology sector, as identified by JMP Securities equity research. International Battery was listed as a top company in the Batteries and Power Storage category. International Battery was chosen due to its innovations in large-format Lithium-ion battery technology that enables clean energy storage for a variety of solar, wind, smart grid, electric utility, military and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) applications.

As one of the few U.S.-based Lithium-ion battery manufacturers, International Battery’s large-format lithium-ion prismatic cells are beneficial to both distributed and bulk energy storage programs up to and beyond five megawatt-hour (MWh), including renewable energy integration, grid-tie storage, hybrid vehicles and mobile military applications. Moreover, the company’s water-based manufacturing process reduces the need for toxic solvents which significantly reduces operating and capital costs.

San Francisco-based JMP Securities is a full-service investment bank that provides equity research, institutional brokerage and investment banking services to public and private growth companies and their investors.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from JMP Securities,” said International Battery’s president and CEO, Dr. Ake Almgren.  “We see ourselves as an enabler of integrating more intermittent renewable power to the grid.  Our technology combined with our water-based manufacturing process allows us to offer a clean and much more efficient alternative to traditional energy storage. We look forward to continued success in the industries we serve and growth in new market sectors.”
