Dennis Sadlowski
CEO, Member of the Board Dennis Sadlowski became CEO of International Battery in September 2011. Mr. Sadlowski previously served as President & CEO of Siemens Energy and Automation where he was responsible for eight operating divisions with multiple production and R&D facilities in the U.S. and Mexico. He served on the Board of Directors of Siemens One, Siemens Corp Research, and the Siemens Foundation. He earlier served as COO, VP Power Distribution & Controls, and prior to that as VP of the Siemens Factory Automation Sensor group. Before joining Siemens, Mr. Sadlowski was VP and General Manager at Thomas & Betts. He began his career with a decade at General Electric. Mr. Sadlowski has been a Member of the Georgia Tech Board of Advisors, and the Board of Governors of the NEMA and MAPI. He holds an MBA from Seattle University, and a BS in Chemical & Nuclear Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Thomas Puza
Chief Operating Officer Thomas Puza joined the Company in June 2011, He has 25 years of manufacturing experience in the automotive, electronics, and communications areas. Prior to joining International Battery, Mr. Puza was Director of Engineering for Ener1 where he led engineering and commercial interfaces for customer development and programs involving lithium-ion cells and battery systems. Mr. Puza has also served as a Managing Director at Delphi, and as a Director, Asia/Pacific Engineering, for Delco Electronics. Mr. Puza holds a MBA from University of Michigan and BS Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University.
David J. McShane
Executive VP of Business Development, Marketing & Sales David J. McShane joined International Battery as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Engineering in May of 2010. McShane brings over 20 years of professional experience in the commercialization of early stage technology companies. Prior to joining the International Battery team, McShane was President and CEO of Wellington Drive Technologies US Inc., where he successfully grew the company to a market leading position for high efficiency fractional horsepower electric motors. In addition, McShane has held senior management positions at Capstone Turbine Corporation and Co-Founded Wavedriver Ltd., a developer of hybrid-electric drive-train technology. McShane holds several power conversion & control patents, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (FIET). He holds a BEng ACGI in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London UK.
Dr. Jacob Muthu
Vice President – Research & Development Dr. Jacob Muthu joined the Company in December 2007. He was formerly with MeadWestvaco where he led a group of researchers in developing advanced electrode materials for lithium ion batteries (for hybrid electric vehicle applications). Prior to working at MeadWestvaco, Dr. Muthu spent four years with Solicore Inc, where he developed lithium and lithium-ion batteries for “smart card” applications. Dr. Muthu was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University, working on layered nano materials as an electrolyte for lithium-polymer batteries. Dr. Muthu has published several papers in peer reviewed journals and his papers have appeared as featured articles in scientific journals.
Joe Brase
Chief Financial Officer Joe Brase joined International Battery in January 2011. He brings over 25 years of general management experience in finance and international operations. As Partner of Tatum he raised venture capital, led turn arounds and strategic transactions. Brase held full P&L responsibility of manufacturing plants, managed large capital expenditure projects and led several company start-ups. Brase holds a Master Degree in Economics and a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Göttingen (Germany).
Robert Jewett
Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary Robert Jewett joined the Company in May 2009. He brings to the Company a wealth of experience dealing with legal and regulatory issues. He spent 26 years with Hooper Holmes, Inc., rising to the position of Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, reporting to the President & CEO. He holds a JD, cum laude,from Suffolk University Law School and a BA from the University of Kentucky, with High Distinction. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
