Dr. Ake Almgren became CEO of International Battery in March 2009. He brings a wealth of energy industry experience to the Company.  He spent 26 years with ABB Ltd., including roles as worldwide Business Area Manager for Distribution Transformers (managing 36 plants in 27 countries), President of ABB Power T&D Company, President of ABB Power Distribution, and President of ABB Power Systems.  From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Almgren was President and CEO of Capstone Turbine Corporation.  He currently serves on the boards of PJM Interconnect LLC and Active Power.  Dr. Almgren holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Linkopings Tekniska Hogskola in Sweden and a Masters of Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

Antonio Reis joined the Company in February 2009. He has 22 years of production and manufacturing engineering experience, including substantial work with mixing and coating systems.  Most recently, he has consulted for a wide range of clients as President of Vitrom Manufacturing Consultants, including Valence Technology, Eksigent Technologies, Lam Research Corporation and Edge Diagnostic Systems.  Prior to starting his own business, Mr. Reis was a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Tandy Magnetic Media and a Process Engineer for Anacomp Inc.

Dr. Jacob Muthu joined the Company in December 2007.  He was formerly with MeadWestvaco where he led a group of researchers in developing advanced electrode materials for lithium ion batteries (for hybrid electric vehicle applications).  Prior to working at MeadWestvaco, Dr. Muthu spent four years with Solicore Inc, where he developed lithium and lithium-ion batteries for “smart card” applications.  Dr. Muthu was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University, working on layered nano materials as an electrolyte for lithium-polymer batteries. Dr. Muthu has published several papers in peer reviewed journals and his papers have appeared as featured articles in scientific journals.

John Battaglini joined the Company in July 2009.  He has over 20 years of experience with sales and marketing functions in high technology companies.  He was formerly Vice President of Business Development with Primet Precision Materials and Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product Development for Millennium Cell. He began his career with Lucent Technologies.  He holds an MBA from Villanova University, and MS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Robert Jewett joined the Company in May 2009.  He brings to the Company a wealth of experience dealing with legal and regulatory issues. He spent 26 years with Hooper Holmes, Inc., rising to the position of Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, reporting to the President & CEO. He holds a JD, cum laude,from Suffolk University Law School and a BA from the University of Kentucky, with High Distinction.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
